Omar Othman (Abu Qatada Al Fillistini)
Biography
Abu Qatada al-Filistini, whose real name is Omar Mahmoud Othman, is a Jordanian Salafi cleric who has been accused of having links to terrorist organisations such as Al Qaeda. The United Nations accuses him of fundraising for Al Qaeda-related groups and of encouraging “the commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism”.
Abu Qatada has been described as “the most significant extremist preacher in the UK”, “Al Qaeda’s spiritual leader in Europe” and “Osama bin Laden’s right hand man in Europe” even though he maintains that he never met him.
Abu Qatada arrived in Britain on a forged passport with his wife and five kids in 1993, after having claimed asylum. Since then, he has been frequently imprisoned in the United Kingdom without formal charges or prosecution.
He was deported to Jordan in 2013 where courts found him presumably innocent of the various terrorism charges and freed him a year later, in 2014. The news of his release caused outrage and even his defence team agreed that he poses a “grave risk” to national security.

Evidence of Hate Speech/Incitement:

February 2019: In a tweet, Abu Qatada said that only Muslims will enter Heaven.
2016: Abu Qatada Al-Filistini talks about The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, States: Jews use blood for passover Matzos. He said that blood libel accusations against Jews are true, stating that "This Jewish blood matzos ... there is a text in the Talmud ... It says that the matzos eaten by the Jews on their holiday must be consecrated with the blood of a man from among the Gentiles. Usually they take a Christian because they cannot overpower a Muslim. This actually happened, yet they [the BBC] treat it as a mockery."
