Meir Mordechai Ettinger
Biography
Meir Ettinger, 29, is the grandson of the American-born Rabbi Meir Kahane and a far-right zionist fundamentalist who calls for the demolition of the secular state of Israel, and its replacement by a religious state based on Biblical principles.
Ettinger is at the top of Shin-Bet’s (Shabak/Internal Israeli Security Service) list of most dangerous right-wing Jewish extremists and the most-wanted Jewish figure. Shin-Bet’s investigations concluded that Ettinger is the head of ‘The Revolt’, a Jewish terror group that threatens the public security of the secular state of Israel by creating wars between Arabs and Jews.
Furthermore, Ettinger has played a leading role in establishing illegal settlements on Palestinian land accross the West Bank.
In addition to his multiple arrests, Ettinger was imprisoned under administrative detention for ten months as he was accused for being the ringleader of several violent terrorist actions against Palestinians, especially the deadly Duma arson attack in 2015 that led to the death of an 18-month-old Palestinian baby, who was burnt alive. The baby’s parents succumbed to their wounds and also died weeks later.
Soon after his release in 2016, the Israeli government, along with the Israeli Security Services, put pressure on Ettinger to turn down his hate speech and as a result, he become more cautious in his writings and blogs in the months following his release. Yossi Melman, an Israeli journalist claimed in his article that the most extreme members of the Hilltop Youth regrouped into what would be known later as ‘The Rebellion’ - named after a secret booklet which outlined their ideology.

Evidence of Hate Speech/Incitement:
November 2015: In a documentary produced by Al Jazeera Media Network, titled ‘Israel’s Hilltop Youth: Thou Shalt Not Kill | Radicalised Youth’, one of Hilltop’s Kahanist fellows clearly claims that Jews are God's chosen nation to fulfill the commandment of killing and eradicating the Arab people from Palestine, as they believe that the Holy Land belongs solely to Jews.
June 2014: The Shin-Bet singled out Ettinger when it announced it had cracked the June arson attack on the Church of the Multiplication, a prominent Catholic church near the Sea of Galilee. It accused Ettinger of heading a movement of young settler activists who were responsible for the torching and a number of other hate crimes against Palestinian Arab Christians. On June 22, 2014, Ettinger wrote: “The key is not to seek to delay the explosion, but to try to bring it on as soon as possible and on our own initiative”.
May 2014: Ettinger incited for additional attacks on Christian religious sites on ‘The Jewish Voice’ blog a month before the attack on the church of the Multiplication near the Sea of Galilee.
During 2011: In an attempt to further fan the flames of incitement to riot and violence against Palestinian Arabs, Ettinger went from shop to shop in Machane Yehuda Market in Jerusalem to ask the storekeepers if they had Arab employees. If the answer was yes, he would place an ‘X’ next to the store’s name in his notebook.
