Biography

David Yerushalmi is an American attorney and lawyer, and ardent Islamophobic conspiracy theorist. He is the founder of the America Freedom Law Center, which defines itself as “Judeo-Christian, public interest law firm that fights for faith and freedom”. Often hiding behind his law firm, and the various services this firm provides, his attacks on Muslims and Islam have been condemned by many across the U.S., with the Southern Poverty Law Center - an American non-profit organisation that monitors the activities of domestic hate groups and other extremists, stating that Yerushalmi is the primary author behind model anti-sharia legislation that has been proposed in state legislatures across the U.S. The SLPC also names Yerushalmi as the “father of the anti-Sharia movement in the U.S.”

Yerushalmi is an Orthodox Jew and has been a member of ultra-right wing Israeli settler organisations based in the U.S., lambasting liberal Jews on multiple occasions, in addition to his history of racism towards black people and non-Whites.

Evidence of Hate Speech/Incitement:

June 2017: On its website, the SPLC outlines what Yerushalmi stated in his own words during an interview with a well-known Canadanian psychologist. Yerushalmi stated that “I don't have a problem saying that Western Judeo-Christian culture and civilization is simply supreme. It's superior to that which is conquered, and I have no problem with saying that Islamic culture is violent, it’s misogynist, it’s discriminatory and it's backward, and all I have to do is point to the entire Muslim world.”

Unknown date: Yerushalmi stated that black people “are the most murderous of all people”.
