Baruch Marzel
Biography
Baruch Marzel is a prominent member of the Jewish community in Hebron. He served as parliamentary aide to Meir Kahane in the 1980s when the Kach party was elected to the Knesset. Since then he has lived in Hebron.
After the assassination of Meir Kahane in 1990, Marzel was elected as the leader of Kach party, for nearly five years until the Cave of the Patriarchs massacre that was carried out by the Jewish terrorist Baruch Goldstein took place in 1994, at which point the organisation was banned by the Israeli government and later blacklisted by the U.S. Government.
Baruch joined Kahane's Jewish Defense League at the age of 13 and began promoting the extremist beliefs of the assassinated Rabbi Meir Kahane. He was later considered as Meir Kahane’s right-hand man in Israel and was described as an “extreme right-wing activist” by the Israeli press.
In 2004, he founded the Jewish National Front, and headed its Knesset list in the 2006 elections.
Lately, Marzel is serving as a political activist and a figurehead of the Jewish radical party, Otzma Yehudit, a sectarian, Kahanist political party that calls for the eradication of Arabs from the Holy Land.
