English Defence League (EDL)
The English Defence League (EDL) is a far-right, anti-Muslim social organisation and a pressure group in the United Kingdom. The EDL uses street protests as its primary technique to combat Islamist extremism, although its language and actions target Islam and Muslims more broadly. The EDL’s main focus was on organizing protests, holding an average of ten to fifteen demonstrations each year, bringing masses ranging from 100 to 3000 people.
Génération Identitaire (GI)
Génération Identitaire (GI) is a French far-right identity political movement that was founded in September 2012 and is mostly active in France. The movement’s ideology is ultra-nationalist white supremacism with a main focus on anti-Muslim rhetoric, despite not identifying itself as such. GI is an outgrowth of Radical Unity, which was disbanded in August 2002 when one of its militants attempted to assassinate former president Jacques Chirac.
Proud Boys
Proud Boys, whose name is derived from a song in the famous musical Aladdin, are a reaction to and opposition to “politically correct culture.” According to the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism, the group believes men and Western culture are under attack. Although the group officially opposes white supremacy, “members have nonetheless appeared at multiple racist events,” according to The Daily Beast. Some members have also participated in several racist events as well as events centred on fascist, anti-left, and anti-socialist violence. The Proud Boys glorifies violence, and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has labelled the organization an “alt-right fight club” that employs rhetorical devices to conceal its true motivations.
Kingdom Identity Ministries
Kingdom Identity Ministries (KIM) is one of the most well-known distributors of Christian Identity material that promotes a racial understanding of Christianity. According to the group, KIM plays a big role in promoting Christian identity by reaching to “God's chosen race, true Israel, and the White, European peoples”.
League of the South
The League of the South (LoS) is an American religious and social movement, established by Michael Hill, a former history professor at Stillman College in 1994. It has become a racist and white supremacist group that is linked to the Nationalist Front, neo-Nazis and conventional white supremacists.
Identity Evropa
Based on the concept of identitarian politics, the Identity Evropa organization supports white European identity and the maintaining of white culture. Identity Evropa was an American neo-Nazi group and was designated as a hate group.
