Abdulrahman Al Ashmawi
Biography
Abdul Al Rahman Saleh Al Ashmawi was born in Ara village in Al Baha region. He joined the Faculty of Arabic Language at the Imam Muhammed bin Saud Islamic University and graduated in 1977. He also obtained a PhD from the Department of Rhetoric, Criticism and Methodology of Islamic Literature in 1989 after he defended a thesis on “The Artistic Structure of Contemporary Islamic Historical Novel.”
Al Ashmawi worked as a lecturer at the same department for years before retiring a few years ago. His most famous poems include, The Tragedy of History, When bullets are played, O Nation of Islam, Scenes from the Day of Resurrection. His poems address a number of issues facing today’s Muslims such as the war in Syria, Iraq, and Palestine. He also writes about theological questions such as the struggle between good and evil, life after death and the day of resurrection.
Al Ashmawi manages the Mobin Centre for the Arabic Language ( مركز مبين للغة العربية). The Centre provides training courses in reading, writing and speaking in Arabic Language. Until today, Al Ashmawi presents poetry evenings inside and outside the kingdom.
He also gives a number of training courses in public speaking, administrative communication, and leadership courses for women. The poet is also well known thanks to his tv and radio programs, including Our Mothers, This is the Quran, and Mobeen.

July 2014: In a tweet, Al Ashmawi calls jews “ the cowardest of Allah’s creation”.
October 2011: In his Facebook page, Abdul al Rahman Al Ashmawi said that the Nobel Prize is a Jewish prize given to those who serve the interests of the people behind the prize.
