Biography

Mohamed Rateb Al Nabulsi is one of the most famous preachers in the Middle East, a writer, professor, Muslim scholar, and co-founder and manager of Nabulsi Encyclopedia of Islamic Science.

Born and raised in Syria, he graduated in 1964 from the Faculty of Damascus in Arabic language, and in 1966, he received a diploma of teaching with honors before becoming a professor at Damascus University. Al Nabulsi attained a Master’s degree in Arabic Arts from the University of Lyon and a PhD in Education from the University of Dublin in 1999.

Al-Nabulsi also studied different branches of the Islamic sciences such as Tafsir, Fiqh, Hadith, Sira nabawiya. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Riwaya of the Hadith from the University of Damascus.

Mohamad Rateb Al-Nabulsi has held several posts as a teacher of religious sciences in various institutions and mosques. He was also imam and khatib in 1974 at the mosque of his grandfather Abdelghani Al-Nabulsi where he founded a Center of Learning the Koran.

After the beginning of the uprising in 2011 he left for Jordan. In May 2017, he was part of a blacklist along with the Jamaican-born Canadian Bilal Philips, who lives in Qatar, and Kamal El-Mekki from US and three other Islamic scholars as well as American pastor Terry Jones from entering Denmark for a period of two years due to hate preaching concerns and indoctrinating others to commit violence.

Evidence of Hate Speech/Incitement:

  • August 2019: In an interview on Youtube,  Al Nabulsi said that there is a global war on Islam seeking to corrupt young Muslims.

  • January 2018: A third world war is being waged on the religion of Islam. He added that the Quran says that we love them (the west/ unbelievers) but they don’t love us.
