Biography

Hassan Al-Hussaini is a Saudi Bahraini historian and a well-known Islamic preacher with Shafi’i-Sunni orientations. Born in Makkah in 1976, he grew up among a conservative and religious family and pursued several degrees in different Arab countries. He graduated from the Sharjah Faculty at the Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. He also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Quran, the Hadith and other religious sciences as well as a Master’s degree in History in Bahrain. He is also preparing a thesis on Ahl-al-Bayt (Prophet’s family) and his companions.

Hassan took part in several religious associative activities. He is a member of the Shariah Scholars Association of the Bahraini family, member of the association Al-Aal wa Al-Ashab (the family and the companions), an association that explains the relationship between Ahl-al-Bayt (Prophet’s family) and Sahabah (Prophet’s companions). He is also one of the prominent founders of the political Bahraini Association of modernity.

Besides his participation in social organisations and religious bodies, Hassan animated different religious shows on a number of Arab channels such as Sahwat Bahrain (Bahrain’s awakening), Ayam Omar (Omar’s life) and others.

Evidence of Hate Speech/Incitement:

April 2020: Hassan published a video on his channel with a kid who was reading the Quran. The video was entitled “The truth about the Jews with Sheikh Hassan Al-Husseini”. He was explaining at which point the Jews are sinners and not trustworthy.

October 2012: Hassan published an article talking about Iran and the Shiites stating that the Zionist government will never attack Iran because “It is America's right hand in the region, and it is the bogeyman with which America frightens the Gulf states.”. He also said regarding Shiites that “the issue is greater than the issue of the war between Sunnis and Shiites, it is more about the conspiracy against this great religion. We find that there is a Safavid tide and a great Safavid project, and this project is not far from the conspiracies of Western countries; For example, in Bahrain, there was a conspiracy under the exploitation of these revolutions, and there was the February 14 Movement with Iran, America and Britain behind it, and the meetings that took place to overthrow the regime in Bahrain were at the American embassy. The obvious enemy is Iran, but there are forces behind it that support it to control this rich region. Not only with oil, but also with its stances against Iran.”
