Laura Loomer
Current Status: Anti-Muslim Activist/Conspiracy Theorist/Internet Personality
Biography
Laura Loomer is an American far-right and anti-Muslim political activist, conspiracy theorist, and internet personality. The Israeli newspaper Haaretz described her as a “far-right Jewish activist”. Loomer pursued her studies at Barry University in Miami and graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2015. Loomer worked as an activist and investigative journalist for a variety of organisations, including Project Veritas, a right-wing organisation notorious for conducting recorded and fraudulently edited undercover audio and video investigations of media companies and left-leaning organisations. Additionally, she contributed to the Canadian far-right news website The Rebel Media in 2017 and has occasionally contributed to the American far-right conspiracy theory and fake news website InfoWars. Loomer is known as the “most banned woman in the world”.
She has been banned from using several social media platforms, payment processors, ride-hailing services, and food delivery smartphone applications for a variety of reasons, including breaking hate speech standards and disseminating disinformation. Loomer was also banned from the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in March 2019, after attempting to heckle reporters and pursuing them throughout the event. Recently, Loomer defeated five opponents and won the Republican House primary in Florida's 21st Congressional Districts in August 2020. However, she did not make it to Congress, as she did not succeed in defeating the senior Democratic Congresswoman Lois Frankel.

Evidence of Hate Speech/Incitement:
May 2021: Tech giant, Clubhouse, banned Laura Loomer for spreading hate speech against Muslims in the United States in a live video, saying that she doesn't want to be “roadkill if Uber doesn't do background checks on Muslim drivers.”
February 2019: Loomer posted a video on her suspended Instagram account about Ilhan Omar, accusing her and all Muslims of being responsible for the September 11 attacks and claiming that “Muslims should not even be able to run for political office in this country.”
August 2018: Rashida Tlaib was present at a congressional campaign event for Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar, which Loomer disrupted. Loomer yelled questions implying that Tlaib was “anti-Semitic”. Twitter suspended Loomer from its platform in November of that year for breaching its hateful conduct policy. Loomer claims she was banned because of a post about Omar in which she labelled her “anti-Jewish” and a member of a religion where “homosexuals are repressed” and women are abused and forced to wear the hijab.
October 2017: Laura Loomer posted a racist anti-Muslim Tweet on her suspended account, claiming that she arrived late to a conference she was invited to because she could not find a non-Muslim taxi, Uber, or Lyft-driver and called for the establishment of taxi companies that do not employ Muslim drivers and ended her tweet by saying: “Then let me be the first to say I never want another Muslim entering this country EVER AGAIN! #ProudIslamophobe. As a result of her hate speech, Loomer was immediately banned from benefiting from Uber and Lyft’s riding services.
