Franklin Graham
Biography
Franklin Graham is an American Christian evangelist, political commentator and the President of the Billy Graham Evanglistic Association and the Samaritan’s Purse - a Christian Aid organisation that provides charity to Christians communities around the world as part of its missionary work.
Often hiding behind his aid to Christian communities around the world, Graham - like other evangelist preachers across the U.S. - has appeared regularly on television interviews and made offensive remarks on homosexuals, Muslims and Islam - often conflating Islam and Muslims as a whole with extremist militant Islamist groups such as a Daesh. On multiple occasions, Graham has stated that “Islam is not a religion of peace”, and that Muslim immigration to the U.S. needs to be stymied.
Graham was banned from preaching in the UK, after booking venues in Liverpool, London, Milton Keyes, Newcastle, Sheffield and Glasgow in February 2020. Evangelical Britons withdrew their support, and local councils across the UK decided to ban the preacher from holding his events, stating his appearance would be disruptive and divisive.

Evidence of Hate Speech/Incitement:
April 2020: Graham asked medical workers at a hospital handling COVID-19 patients run by his Samaritan Purse to sign a “statement of faith” expressing their anti-LGBTQ views.
October 2015: During a television interview, Graham stated that “well ISIS, well it doesn’t matter what name it’s under, it’s Islam”, further adding that “Islam persecutes and kills Christians, with Sunnis chopping of the heads of Christians in Iraq and Syria, and Saudi Arabia executing people who have bibles and who evangelise in the kingdom”.
January 2015: On a live television interview,Graham expressed his strong opposition to Duke University allowing Muslim students to pray in the University, further stating that “there’s this notion that Islam is a peaceful religion is not true, and that in Iraq they take the Yaziziz’s [Yazidis] as sex slaves” - in reference to Daesh’s capture of girls from Iraq’s Yezidi minority and using them as sex slaves.
