Anne Marie Waters
Current Status: Irish-British far-right activist and politician
Biography
Anne Marie Waters is an Irish-British far-right politician and activist in the United Kingdom. She is the founder and leader of the anti-Islam party For Britain. Although born and raised in Ireland, she considers herself to be passionately, loyally, and proudly British. In addition to studying Journalism at Nottingham Trent University in England, Waters earned a law degree in London while also working as a secretary in the NHS. In addition, Waters was an active member of One Law for All - a pressure group against Sharia courts.
In 2010, Waters unsuccessfully ran for the Labour Party in the Lambeth London Borough Council election for Streatham Hill. In the 2015 general elections, Waters ran as the UKIP candidate in Lewisham East, where she managed to gain 9.1% of the total votes. During her political campaign, she advocated for mass deportations, mosque closures, and a ban on immigration from Muslim-majority nations. In 2015, she launched a UK branch of German anti-Islam movement PEGIDA together with former English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson. In 2017, Waters left UKIP to establish the far-right political movement For Britain.
Waters has been frequently chastised for her ties to far-right politicians and organisations, while repeatedly praising Netherland’s Geert Wilders and France’s Marine Le Pen. Additionally, she is the author of Beyond Terror: Islam’s Slow Erosion of Western Democracy.

Evidence of Hate Speech/Incitement:
June 2017: In the aftermath of the June 2017 Finsbury mosque attack, Waters said: “It’s called ‘war’, and if not for Islam, none of it would be happening… Islam has waged war on unbelievers for 1,400 years. It’s not the only cause of war, but it’s the cause of this one.”
April 2017: According to the Guardian, Waters says in a suspended election video uploaded on her Twitter page that she wants to lay out a new vision for the UK, one that targets Islam and Muslims. She also referred to Islam as “evil” and “a killing machine.”
September 2016: In a suspended tweet, Waters said that “The only “evil” we have legalised is Islam.”
April 2015: Waters was caught speaking at an event organised by the British “counter-jihad” organisation Mothers Against Radical Islam and Sharia - she clearly stated: “For a start the immigration will have to stop, the immigration from Islamic countries has to stop entirely, that is just the way it is. A lot of people need to be deported. Many mosques need to be closed down. It really has to get tough.”
June 2014: Waters appeared on a stage in Copenhagen alongside Lars Hedegaard, the leader of the anti-Islam organisation the International Free Press Society. In her speech, Waters linked Islam to child abuse, claiming that "it’s all linked to Islam", which she described as a "dangerous ideology being appeased". "It is exactly the same appeasement that is allowing young girls to be raped in Britain, it’s got nothing to do with race, it’s got to do with the fact that we will not confront the misogyny at the very, very heart of this religion.”
